This flipping motion is always funny and surprising to learners, I think because the chassis unexpectedly takes on the role of wheel or lever as it flips around.
I often see children investigating how to translate movement of the motor to movement of the whole machine, as these two were.
This spinning caterpillar moves because the paper acts like a sail, an idea worth exploring further.
Children take pride in creating these"butterflies," but as a play designer I'd like to see more solution diversity.

@mark I know! I tried to find the right switch too. Me and Henrik were playing with sticking wood on it and bonking the end but not enough leverage. I think we need a lever with pivot about 2 cm below switch, slot for switch to fit in, extending way out past top at an angle to give enough leverage to throw it.
